The Brochund Family

Hall's Harbour, Nova Scotia

Waiting to come in

Our next litter is being planned for later in 2008.

WHO WE ARE:

We are a small kennel situated in rural Nova Scotia,Canada. We breed and show Miniature Wirehaired Dachshunds. All our dogs live in our home with us, and are much loved ‘family members’.

WHY DACHSHUNDS:

We first fell in love with dachshunds back in the late 1960’s when we got our first dachshund, he was a Standard Smooth, we later got a female as a companion for him. These two, Bumpy and Silky, grew up with our four young children, and helped instill a love of animals in all of them. Since that time we’ve rarely been without a dachshund in our home. We’ve had other dogs too, (mainly rescues) but have come back to dachshunds as ‘our’ breed.

OUR KENNEL:

Currently, we have five Miniature Wirehairs, and 1 Standard Smooth Dachshund. Our dogs are all out of Champion bloodlines and are shown to their Canadian Championships before we consider breeding them.

OUR PUPPIES:

We don’t have litters very often, as we breed only when we want a pup for showing, or to continue the bloodline in our breeding program. Our main interest is in the improvement of the breed, and in producing quality, happy, healthy, puppies. Occasionally we have companion puppies available to approved homes. Our next litter is being planned for later in 2008.
See pictures of previous litters here.

THE SALES AGREEMENT:

All our puppies are registered with the Canadian Kennel Club, and are sold on a registered non-breeding contract to companion homes. This requires that they must be neutered or spayed at the appropriate age. Our puppies are de-wormed, health checked, Micro-chipped, and Vaccinated as appropriate for their age by our Veterinarian, before they leave our home.

OUR HEALTH GUARANTEE:

We provide a sales agreement which includes a health guarantee that our puppies have no known hereditary diseases. New puppy owners will get six weeks of insurance coverage free with Pet Plan Insurance upon the purchase of their puppy. This covers Veterinary fees in case of accident or illness.

If you browse through our site, you can see some pictures of our dogs, both past and present.

We can be contacted at our email address, and would be happy to answer any questions.
